RIP Muffin

Today I had to put my cat “Muffin” to sleep. Doctors tried everything to help her, but nothing worked.

“Muffin” lived with me for the last 19 years, I think it was time for her to go.

Rest in peace Muffin

Scratching Post (2003) - She loved her scratching post, and it had to be exactly this one. I had to rapair it several times, because she wouldn't use the new one that I bought for her.

Watching 'Cat TV' (2003) - We were taking care of the neighbours fish tank while they where on vacation. Muffin liked it a lot (no fish was harmed)

Ihr erinnert Euch an die Rückrufaktion von Toyota wegen ‘klemmender Gaspedale’ (wenn nicht, hier stehts)

In den USA gab es 75 schwere Unfälle mit 93 Toten. Das U.S. Department of Transportation hat die Fälle untersucht, mit folgendem Ergebnis:

- in einem Fall hat die Fußmatte das Gaspedal verklemmt
- in den anderen Fällen haben die Fahrer Gas und Bremse verwechselt

In keinem Fall war ein technischer Defekt die Unfallursache.

Da stellt sich natürlich die Frage, ob Herr Ray LaHood (US-Verkehrsminister) nicht einfach die heimische Automobilindustrie unterstützen wollte, indem er einen erfolgreichen Importeur rauskegelt.

What BP and the US Coast Guard are trying to hide

It’s now a crime in the US to get too close to the oiled wildlife at the beaches (and get in range to take pictures (65ft)).

Why? They say it’s too dangerous… Really? Maybe they don’t want you to see pictures like these.
Because if you don’t see it, it’s not happening.

And if you drive a car (that’s burning fossil fuel), you are part of the problem.

Fox News misinformation campaign regarding BP oil spill

well, id you know Fox News, you know that their network is not neccessarily ‘fact-driven’. But regarding the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico (see this earlier post) they simply started a campaign of lies and misinformation.

Media Matters for America has compiled a list of myths and falsehoods about the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, all of which have been pushed by Fox News.
